Wastewater Maintenance and Electrical Technician

The Utilities Board of the City of Andalusia is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Maintenance and Electrical Technician position in the Wastewater Department. Under the general direction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, the employee performs basic upkeep and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and related equipment. The employee services and repairs the equipment of a wastewater treatment facility and lift station, pumping equipment, maintains all electrical equipment and wiring, and troubleshoots any problems by determining the nature and necessary repairs. The employee works with minimum supervision; however, the Wastewater Chief Maintenance and Electrical Technician receives and reviews work assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to:

Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
Possession of a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Required to be certified as an electrician with at least 5 years experience in installing and maintaining electrical equipment in a wastewater treatment facilint and lift station application.
Ability to work nonstandard hours and/or over 40 hours per week.
May be required to be on call 24 hours/seven days a week.
