Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Helper
The Utilities Board of the City of Andalusia is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Helper in the Wastewater Department. Under the general direction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, the employee performs basic upkeep and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, cleans and washes static screen separators, removes sludge from drying beds and flushes down boat clarifiers on a daily basis. The work is skilled and semiskilled work and ordinarily performed under the direct supervision of a work superior, but employee may work with considerable independence on routine, semiskilled operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to:

Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.

Possession of a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

May be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B.

May be required to work in excess of 40 hours.

Some experience in related work.
